All I will be

By: Anna Riddo

I am the singer

but I want to be the song.

The anthem that people walk in to

The words that make them run to the dance floor screaming the lyrics

I am the dancer

but I want to be the dance

The movement where no one is watching

The smooth and free shuffles or intense fist pumps

I am the painter

but I want to be the painting

The hidden gems that give meaning

The story told through strokes of genius

I am the museum

but I want to be the display

The presentation of a life well lived

A treasure so rare you just have to see it

I am the commuter

but I want to be the train

Constantly moving despite delays

Pieces of life revealed in flashes

I am the student

but I want to be the tests

The obstacles that create me

The answer that you searched for

I am the teacher

but I want to be the lesson

The objective set with intention

The forces that push you into being your best self

I am kind

but I want to be kindness

Brightening other days

Giving back to the community

I am passionate

but I want to be the passion

The force that drives you

The angst to go on

I am the dreamer

but I want to be the dream

The journey that defines your life

The expectation for the future

I am the author

but I want to be the book

The theme hidden in life lessons

The words filled with power

I am the Poet

but I want to be the poem

Crafted words that flow off the page

A heart content

I want

I want

I want

What’s stopping me?

I can

I am

I will be
