The calendar turned its page  

Introducing life’s new chapter or stage

August 1 was an important date

A day marking my new fate

Packed my bags, bid farewell

No clue what the future will foretell

Entered the airport with a heavy heart

But I reminded myself, this is a fresh start

Up in the skies, into the unknown

Onwards a destination I will now call home
